Dystopians VS Contemporary

A few weeks ago I did a post on Dystopian novels that got a big bundle of positive responses!
Today, I'm going to share some YA Dystopian covers, versus some regular YA contemporary covers.
Which ones catch your eye more? Which book would you be more likely to pick up and read? Keep in mind, I like ALL of these books!! =]

The Iron Witch (The Iron Witch, #1)

  1. I definitely am more likely to pick up the dystopian book covers. They just look more intriguing to me. :)

  4. I gravitate toward the darker, odder looking covers that have a mysterious feel to them. A couple of those were paranormal romance but most were dystopian books. I usually steer WAY clear of the cute girl-and-boy, partial-girl-face, prom-dress-girl, or hearts-and-love book covers because I tend to dislike contemporary romance without some kind of fantasy/supernatural/sci-fi twist.

  6. My favorite genres are paranormal romance and dystopia. I know I should try to be more well rounded, but I read for entertainment and that's what entertains me.... My eyes are drawn to the darker, more paranormal/dystopian covers.

  9. To be honest, I'm not too fond of dark, 'beautiful' covers. I prefer bright cheery ones! But the cover of Timeless!

  10. I'm torn. I love dystopian covers because they're always cool and edgy - but I'm a sucker for cute things too, so stuff like Anna and the French Kiss also appeals to me!

  14. Iron Witch, Ashes Ashes, Variant, Scored...I do like dystopia A LOT. But I mean true dystopia like episodes of the Twilight Zone or the movie Pleasantville. I haven't read Delirium, but half the blogger reviews say it's awesome intro to dystopia and others say it's not really as relevant as other dystopian novels like Hunger Games with all the reality tv stuff...you know?? I like stuff like that!! Annnnd i just wrote a blog entry in your comment box hahah!

  16. Some of both, I am really not a huge dystopian fan but the covers are still cool, so it would really depend on if the blurb on the back grabs me after the cover grabs my attention.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and following. I am following you back.
