Creative Explosion

A Florida sunset. This is what I imagine the creative light bulb in my head looks like

There is nothing in the world like when the plot of your story finally comes together.
When, after writing your magical story with a bazillion twists and turns (that have absolutely NOTHING to do with your original novel idea), everything finally makes sense.

So as I'm sitting here tonight, working on trying to get my story out of the massive pit I accidentally wrote it into,
I finally said---
"Let the characters do the writing. They know just as much as you do at this point."
So I let my characters do whatever the heck they wanted, and before I knew it, my plot totally rocked.
It's a million times better now. (1,000,000,000. Is that what a million looks like? I cried my way through 12 years of math)
Man, It's awesome when you let your perfectly planned plot back the heck up, and let some sort of Creative Explosion occur.

That's when the story becomes something worth reading. Seriously. Try it.
